Our School

All students who attend our school have a diagnosed global developmental delay or intellectual disability, multiple disabilities and complex personal and health care needs. The school is divided into three clusters: Junior, Middle and Senior and staffed with teachers and Education Support officers (ESOs). Allied Health professionals are employed as part of our school team.

The learning environment is the ‘third teacher’, providing a safe indoor and outdoor learning environment, enabling students to interact with each other and engage in sensory activities. The environment plays a valuable teaching role and supports the creation of healthy and happy relationships. The safety of the students is one of our highest priorities and this means not only providing a safe environment but also teaching child safety under the Keeping Safe Child Protection Curriculum and enabling staff to support students in a safe and least restrictive manner.

The future for Our Lady of La Vang

Catholic Special Schools is a newly formed entity within Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Adelaide, which comprises our two existing R-12 sites of Our Lady of La Vang and St Patrick’s Special School Dulwich, with a third site to be planned in the future.
